I have been painting with grid elements and spirals for almost 3 decades while using colour and their relationships to symbolize emotions and social statements. I allow the colours to birth out of a meditative state and once I see elements I like I play with coloured paper cutouts, taping and free drawing to map out a composition to guide me but not necessarily to predict the final outcome. 

The paintings evolve through multiple layers and washes in an effort to keep the surface active so that the viewer can always discover something else to see, something should always seem fresh, almost jumping in and out within the piece.

This was a happy painting for me inspired by the material and my love of painting most of all.
