This piece took me over a year to complete, it went through moods and moments with me and each layer gave me something to accept and release. It was indeed a journey.

Although deceptively simple, this was a long therapy session, finding each time I faced it I had to completely release my ego and let the painting tell me where to go. I guess it happens with every new piece but this one was particularly challenging to resolve... and one day everything just cleared and I saw this appearing, it was totally revealed! I brought out the tape, and let go of any pre-thought, I just worked FOR it. Sounds contradictory, but the freedom to be quite brutal with whats on the canvas knowing that what you have been guided to save is masked, gives a certain sense of confidence and total abandon to play with the surface, mediums and paint.

I really am in love with it so it has taken me some time to actually put it into the 'release pile', and allow others access to it.
